The comparatively small but uniquely varied wine growing area of South Tyrol produces inimitable wines which have just the character which makes a wine extraordinarily popular. About 20 different grape varieties are grown in South Tyrol. You cannot find such variety in any other wine growing area in Italy, and all this on an area of just 5,300 hectares. South Tyrol produces around 350,000 hectolitres of wine annually, 55% of which is white wine.
On behalf of the South Tyrol Wines Consortium, IDM South Tyrol organises wine events and marketing campaigns designed to introduce the customer to the world of South Tyrol wines. www.altoadigewines.com
