Five bridges towards the future.

We can see our future clearly and aim to reach it by following our five, core topics: the South Tyrol Brand, business development, internationalisation, digitalisation, and sustainability.

All mountain passes are pathways which lead hikers from one place to the next. All passes enable them to climb and cross mountains – and to reach their summits, they have to choose the best routes. In our view, the same applies to the South Tyrolean economy, which boasts five ‘passes’. And none of them can be skipped to reach its summit. While challenging, like every mountain pass, we help South Tyrolean companies cross them successfully, so they can reach the top, in the future, with all the climbing tools they need.

South Tyrol Brand

South Tyrol as a strong regional brand

We aim to make the South Tyrol Brand come across as a premium brand, a quality seal for local products, sustainable tourism, and innovative production. Our activities and campaigns enhance South Tyrol as a destination, home to high-quality agrifood produce and innovative production methods. We’re also committed to expanding the brand’s scope, applying it beyond tourist destinations and traditional sectors and using it for new areas – such as timber, to further strengthen the tie between local identity and quality.

Sector and business development

From inspiration to market launch

Outstanding South Tyrolean companies are often SMEs with a strong connection to the region. We support their projects and processes with cutting-edge solutions and an increasing focus on sustainability. We connect them to different, high-quality sectors. However, to truly take care of the future, we have to focus on more than just individual businesses. The world is becoming more and more competitive, and, against this backdrop, what will make South Tyrol stand out is the strength of its overall economy. That’s why we work on developing the region’s main key sectors: preventive health, timber, construction industry, agrifood, cinema, and music, while also tapping into new growth opportunities by implementing targeted measures.

Internationalisation

The world doesn’t end at the horizon line

Helping a business have an international profile is key to achieve a strong and sustainable local economy. We support the internationalisation of companies working in crafts, industry, farming, tourism, and services by offering them new channels, markets, and platforms. We collaborate with them to ensure more local companies can reach foreign markets, bolstering their growth and economic stability.

Digitalisation

South Tyrol's path into the future

South Tyrol has never been at the forefront of digitalisation and, considering what the future of business will be, many companies risk being left behind. Digitalisation is and will become ever more indispensable. We support the digital transformation of all South Tyrolean companies by advising them and providing them with direct support. In this day and age, digitalisation represents a wellspring of potential for businesses and the region. Which is why we’re carrying out a unique project to support this endeavour: creating a digital ecosystem in South Tyrol.

Sustainability

The immense potential of South Tyrol

Out of all the core topics, sustainability is the most crosscutting one. Sustainability is environmental, social, and economic – and at IDM we try to promote these three aspects at the same time. Sustainability and our focus on quality are key elements which will make South Tyrol stand out from the other regions, turning it into a role model of balanced and innovative development. Our goal is to shape South Tyrol into an environmentally sustainable and economic powerhouse which benefits everyone living in the region.
