Why we do it
The short answer? It’s our mission. And our job. The long answer is that South Tyroleans have been doing what we do for centuries – we’ve just given it a framework and structure.
Our region is a beautiful place characterised by challenges. In the past, we had to learn how to farm on mountains, and transport goods and deliver services between valleys and steep mountains. Our forebears’ economy relied on individual craftsmen who had a strong connection to the land, and thrived by means of personal connections. It respected the environment without upsetting its natural balance, and produced high-quality products. South Tyrol wouldn’t be the recipient of so many accolades and the home to high-quality products that it is today without its past.
Yet the world is changing – industrial manufacturing, international competitors and outsourced producers abound. A region like ours will face ever-more complex challenges, and South Tyrolean companies need a helping hand. We can help by creating connections, enhancing the quality of products, and protecting sustainability against the backdrop of this changing world of ours.
How we work
Each project requires a different approach. We can connect a company which makes a local, high-quality product with a limited production output to one which distributes it in South Tyrol and the rest of Italy. We can also help this company digitalise, innovate, and get a foothold on the international market to find new clients. We sometimes approach our clients with new projects, often on sustainability, while other times we listen to their needs and help them reach their objectives. One of the things we care the most about – and which is at the heart of our work – is the South Tyrol Brand. We manage it to promote specific sectors, i.e. local products, tourism destinations or timber. If you want to find out more, take a look at our core topics!
